Introducing the Name of My Fashion Magazine: MILAN

Introducing the Name of My Fashion Magazine: MILAN

After extensive reflection in my Media Studies class, I have chosen to name my fashion magazine MILAN, inspired by my own short name. This decision carries significant personal meaning, as it transforms the magazine into a direct representation of my creative identity and vision. By naming the magazine after myself, I aim to establish a personal and unique brand that resonates with authenticity and individuality, key qualities that I believe set a fashion magazine apart. This choice reinforces the idea that MILAN is not just a publication—it is an extension of my own style, perspective, and passion for fashion.

The Logo Design: A Minimalist Reflection of Elegance

The logo design further strengthens the magazine's identity. Featuring the initials "MD" in bold, overlapping typography, the design exudes sophistication and simplicity, aligning perfectly with the aesthetic values of the magazine. The choice of a minimalist, black-and-white color palette conveys timelessness, ensuring the logo remains versatile and relevant in the ever-changing world of fashion. Meanwhile, the addition of "Magazine" in an elegant, script-like font introduces a touch of softness, balancing the strong initials with a sense of refinement and creativity. The subtle placement of "Milan Degeratu" below the main design ties everything together, giving a polished and professional finish.

Creating a Connection with the Audience

By integrating my name into both the title and the logo, I am building a deeper connection with my audience. This personalized approach invites readers to see the magazine not just as a curated collection of fashion content, but as an intimate glimpse into the creator’s world. It also reflects a strong, confident brand identity—one that values originality, elegance, and a clear sense of purpose.

For my Media Studies portfolio, this combination of personal branding and thoughtful design demonstrates an understanding of how visual and textual elements work together to build a cohesive media product. The result is a magazine that stands out while staying true to its creative roots.
