I Designed the First Pages of my Fashion Magazine
For the first 2 pages of my Fashion Magazine i decided to dedicated them to " All about me " . I felt that this was imporatant as its nice for a reader to also get to know who the author of the magazine is and what he does in his time.
The first page of my magazine is a true reflection of who I am, blending my personal story with a visually striking design. I wanted the introduction to immediately captivate my audience and give them a sense of my personality, passions, and aspirations. The bold "From the Editor" header sets a professional tone, making it clear that this magazine is something I’ve created with care and purpose. In the main text, I talk about myself—Milan Degeratu, a 17-year-old with big dreams in both motorsports and business. I worked hard to make the layout and content feel engaging while staying true to who I am. I chose bold fonts and strong colors like red, black, and white to mirror the high-energy world of racing and the intensity of my passions.
The other photos, like the one where I’m holding a trophy with a teammate, carry a deeper significance as well. They represent the hard work, discipline, and persistence that have brought me to where I am today. These images aren’t just about celebrating a win—they symbolize milestones in my growth as both an athlete and a person. Each trophy in my hands tells a story of the challenges I’ve overcome, the lessons I’ve learned, and the sacrifices I’ve made to improve. By including this image, I wanted to highlight not only my achievements but also the journey of progression in the sport, from my early karting days to my current steps toward Formula 4. It serves as a visual link to the text, where I talk about Formula 4 being a significant leap in my career—a leap that brings me closer to my ultimate goal of competing in Formula 1.
These photos aren’t just static visuals; they’re dynamic parts of the narrative I’m building. Each image captures a specific aspect of my life in motorsports: the unity of teamwork, the thrill of victory, and the determination to keep pushing forward. They also help bring a sense of authenticity to the page, letting readers see for themselves the emotions and moments that fuel my passion. By incorporating these images, I aim to inspire readers to see the value in dedication, resilience, and collaboration—qualities that are essential not just in racing but in any pursuit. Ultimately, the pictures serve as more than just decoration—they’re a visual extension of my story, helping to bring my words to life in a way that engages and connects with my audience.
On the second page, I focused on showcasing the different sides of my life because I wanted readers to see the full picture of who I am, beyond just my identity as a racer. While motorsports is a massive part of my life and something I’m deeply passionate about, I also wanted to make it clear that I believe in the importance of balance. Racing has taught me discipline, focus, and resilience, but I know that life is about more than just chasing career goals—it’s about enjoying the journey and building meaningful connections along the way. That’s why I took this opportunity to share aspects of my life that are just as important to me: school, friends, and travel.
I chose the action shot of me in the kart very intentionally because it captures the essence of my love for speed, competition, and the thrill of being on the track. This image is dynamic and full of energy, immediately grabbing attention and drawing readers into the high-adrenaline world of racing. It serves as a visual representation of my drive and determination, reflecting the hard work and focus I bring to every race. The intensity of this moment encapsulates what I love most about motorsports—the challenge, the precision, and the opportunity to push myself to new limits.
Below that, I included a photo of me with a group of friends because I wanted to show another, equally important side of my life. This picture highlights the value I place on the relationships and memories I build outside of racing. To me, moments spent with friends—whether it’s hanging out after a race, grabbing a coffee, or just laughing together—are just as fulfilling as the time I spend on the track. This image represents the lighter, more personal side of my journey, reminding readers that even with big dreams and ambitious goals, it’s important to stay grounded and connected to the people who matter most.
Including this balance between my professional and personal life was a deliberate choice because I wanted to emphasize the idea that success isn’t just about excelling in one area—it’s about finding harmony between all the things that bring joy and meaning to your life. School, for example, is another critical part of this balance for me. I enjoy learning, discovering new interests, and building relationships with my teachers and classmates. These experiences help shape me as a person, giving me a sense of fulfillment that racing alone can’t provide. Similarly, traveling has broadened my perspective and allowed me to meet new people, explore different cultures, and create memories that I’ll cherish forever. These experiences have shaped me in ways that go beyond racing, helping me grow as an individual and inspiring me to pursue a life that’s not just about achievements but also about meaningful experiences.
By presenting these different facets of my life on the second page, I wanted readers to connect with me on a deeper level. I’m not just a racer—I’m someone who values growth, relationships, and exploration. The design and photo choices work together to create a well-rounded narrative, showing that while I’m driven to succeed, I also know how important it is to take time for the people, places, and moments that make life truly special.
The final section on future plans ties everything together. I wrote about how I’m not just focused on racing but also on pursuing a career in business and exploring other opportunities that excite me. I included a vibrant group photo of me and my peers at an event because it symbolizes how much I value teamwork and being part of a community. This section reflects my ambition to balance multiple passions, whether that’s competing in Formula 1 or running my own business in the future.
The design choices throughout these pages are intentional. I kept the layout clean and modern, with bold headers and a clear structure to make it easy to follow. The use of quotes, like “Traveling helped me broaden my worldview,” breaks up the text and highlights ideas I feel strongly about. The combination of visuals and text creates a dynamic and immersive introduction to me and my magazine. This opening is not just about telling my story—it’s about inspiring readers with my journey, my goals, and the things that drive me every day.
