For my next section in my fashion magazine, I am exploring the impact of social media on fashion trends. This topic is incredibly relevant in today’s digital age, where platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube have revolutionized the way people engage with fashion. Social media has transformed the industry by making fashion more accessible, fast-paced, and consumer-driven.
First Page: Setting the Tone & Visual Impact
When designing my first page, I wanted the title to be bold and attention-grabbing, which is why I went with "The Influence of Social Media on Fashion Trends." The words “Social Media” and “Trends” are the most important in this phrase, so I made sure they stood out by using a combination of black, red, and yellow. These colors not only add energy to the page but also reflect the urgency and rapid movement of trends in the digital world.
For the imagery, I carefully styled my model in an edgy, modern outfit—a metallic crop top, lace skirt, and combat boots—to represent social media-driven fashion trends. The inspiration came from influencers who mix high fashion with streetwear, creating styles that go viral in seconds. I chose a background with abstract grid lines, subtly referencing the digital connections that define online fashion culture. Social media is about interconnectedness, constant updates, and a fast-paced cycle of trends, and I wanted the background to reinforce that idea visually.
In terms of text placement, I structured it to flow naturally across the page. For the second page, I wanted to take a deeper dive into both the positive and negative sides of social media’s influence on fashion. To reflect this shift in tone, I adjusted my model’s pose to be more relaxed and introspective, creating a subtle contrast with the confidence and energy of the first page. While the outfit is still stylish—featuring a black lace skirt and silver accessories—I made sure it complemented the more analytical nature of this section rather than just focusing on aesthetics.
To maintain visual cohesion, I continued using the grid-style background but softened it slightly, ensuring that the reader’s focus remained on the content. The white background helps maintain clarity, making the text easy to read while still reinforcing the digital influence theme.

Visually, I wanted this page to feel fresh and dynamic, which is why I changed the model’s look completely. Her red hair and bold outfit choice—a sporty jersey mixed with a tulle skirt—represent the clash of different fashion influences, much like how TikTok blends styles from different eras and subcultures into new, hybrid aesthetics.I made sure the pose felt more casual and engaging, reflecting how influencers present fashion in a more relatable, everyday way compared to traditional fashion models.
In this section, I dive into how micro-trends have reshaped fashion. Trends no longer last for seasons—they last for weeks or even days because of how fast social media circulates them. I introduced some of the most influential social media-driven trends, including:
